Kinesin & Ncd Decorated Microtubule

A microtubule is shown decorated with monomeric rat kinesin motor domains (top), shown as yellow globular proteins, and 2-headed Drosphila ncd (bottom), with the two motor domains of each protein shown in yellow and orange. The figure is a montage made by superimposing separate reconstructions of kinesin- and ncd-decorated microtubules. There is very little difference in the attachment of the two motors to microtubules, despite the opposite polarity of movement of kinesin and ncd on microtubules. Contributed by Keiko Hirose, Linda Amos & Rob Cross.
