Procedure
| 1. | Drill holes in the enclosure needed for the motor, momentary switch, and power cord. See diagram. |
| 2. | Attach the motors to the top of the enclosure using superglue and secure the momentary switch with the nut provided. See diagram. |
| 3. | Place the power source inside the enclosure; center it lengthwise and place against the wall without the hole for the power cord. Use superglue to secure it in place. |
| 4. | Cut AC power cord to desired length. Secure the power cord to the enclosure using a SPT1 strain relief at the solitary hole drilled in the side of the enclosure. Follow the instructions provided with the strain reliefs. Make sure that there is enough of the power cord inside the enclosure for the wiring needed; there should be enough wire inside the enclosure to reach both a lead of the power source and a lead of the momentary switch. |
| 5. | Attach one lead of the AC power cord to the lead of the momentary power switch and the other to a lead of the power supply. Cut a segment of the power cord to connect the remaining lead of the momentary switch to the remaining lead of the power supply (AC adapter). Be sure that the power cord is not plugged at any time during the assembly. See diagram. |
| 6. | Cut the jack cord of the power supply (AC Adapter) to about 2 inches to attach to the first motor. Attach the positive wire to the positive leads of the motor and the negative wire to the negative lead of the motor. (The wiring may be color-coded to indicate polarity; the white colored wire is usually the negative and the black the positive.) From the wire that was cut off, cut out another portion of 3 inches length. Use this to connect the positive leads of the motors together and the negative leads together. See diagram. |
| 7. | Solder all the wires to the leads to prevent loose wires once the box is assembled. Use caution not to form connections across leads of the same device as this might cause a permenant closed circuit or a short circuit. |
| 8. | Assemble the enclosure making sure that there isn't any strain on any of the parts within the enclosure. |
| 9. | Attach a cushion foot near each of the four corners on the bottom of the enclosure. |
| 10. | Attach teflon coverslip holder to the top of each motor by gently pushing onto the motor shaft. Central hole should be slightly smaller than the shaft so the holder remains attached by friction. |
